Short biography
Aris Kampas is a Denmark-based painter working primarily in oil on canvas. His paintings blend figurative realism, symbolism and surrealism, creating quiet visual narratives about isolation, identity, technology and the unresolved stories of modern life.
His figures are often faceless, hidden or turned away, inviting viewers to project themselves into the scene and become part of the painting’s unfinished story. Working slowly through sketches, grisaille and layered oil paint, Kampas creates images suspended between memory, dream and reality.
He describes his work as unfinished myths — fragments of human experience left open for the viewer to complete.
His recent exhibitions include Kunst for Alle 2024, 2025 and CPH Art Space 2025, at Nørhale Viser Kunst 2026 and Galleri Kunstlade Gjøl Førår Udstilling 2026 among others.
